Hostero is a CPU mining platform that allows users to deploy miners for a variety of CPU mineable cryptocurrencies. Using our mining software allows you to get up and running in minutes with your miners.
Create a Hostero account
In order to use our platform you will need create an account. Creating an account will give you access to the dashboard where you can manage your devices and miners.
You can sign up with an username and password or using a social media account.
Install the universal CPU miner
Installing the Universal CPU miner does not require advanced skills. Currently, only Ubuntu 16.04 and 18.04 are officially supported.
For more operating systems and advanced instructions, check out our getting started guide: https://www.hostero.eu/getting-started.
Configure your wallet
In order to deploy the miner you need to have a WebDollar wallet. Navigate to https://webdollar.io and a wallet is going to be created automatically for you.
For POW (Proof of Work) mining, you only need to set the wallet Address (ignore Public & Private key).
You also need to set a Mining Pool. A complete list with WebDollar mining pools can be found at webdpools.com.
Enable dual mining
WebDollar uses a hybrid mining system to achieve consensus. The mining is split between POW and POS rounds. Blocks are produced 66% of the time by POS miners and 33% by POW miners.
Because WebDollar runs POW only 33% of the time, your device is going to stay idle for the rest of the time (66%).
Using Hostero, you can automatically deploy a second miner for a different cryptocurrency during the idle time: https://dashboard.hostero.eu/#!/settings/dual_mining
Deploy the WebDollar miner
After your device was installed, and you configured your wallet and mining pool, you can deploy the WebDollar miner.
Using our benchmarks page you can estimate based on the hashrate how much you can earn mining WebDollar with the CPU miner.
